Ryuga Carbon Steel Scissors
ofBonsai Magazine
Product Type: Bonsai Tool
Manufacturer: Ryuga Bonsai Tools
This is a carbon steel (black) large handled pruning scissors manufactured by Ryuga Bonsai Tools and distributed by Joshua Roth. I have never owned a pair of pruning scissors like this. I found myself intrigued by a picture sent to me showing the “QC Passed” marked on the tips of every Ryuga scissors which claimed to be high QC procedure based on Japanese standard to ensure the material and functional quality.. I had to try this out.
As the pictures show, I took a toothpick and tried to cut only halfway through.
I was able to accomplish this dazzling feat. I think that this shows Ryuga confidence in the whole tool, all the way to the very tip. These scissors feel very heavy and solid. The riveted joint has no play in it whatsoever. They feel so natural in my hand.
I am looking for ways to improve the review done here, please tell me what you want to know when reading a bonsai tool review. I am also interested in hearing how you choose a tool to buy.

Hi Paul,
Thanks for your review.
This testing method is a high QC standard used by all good bonsai manufactures in Japan to ensure the consistence of the material and the functional quality of the production, especially on the crusial parts of the scissors.
We also have specific QC method for all of our cutters.
