Lindsay Farr’s World of Bonsai: Series One (DVD)
ofBonsai Magazine
If you are not familiar with Lindsay Farr’s World of Bonsai: Series One, where have you been? I fell in love with this video the first time that I saw it on the internet, because Lindsay took me to places I may never get to visit in person. This video does no beating around the bush. It goes straight into bonsai history, then on to bonsai nurseries in Japan, and delves into bonsai techniques. 20 videos can be found around the internet for you to watch on your computer.
If you are like me and don’t like squinting at the computer screen to see the details in videos, this 2-DVD set is perfect for you. Produced in high quality high definition (HD) widescreen format, it is perfect for viewing on the common HD TV of today.
In 20 episodes Lindsay takes us on tour across China and Japan to exquisite bonsai locations, including Kimura’s bonsai nursery, Omiya Bonsai Festival, Angyo City, the Dragon Kiln, some that I never known about. The 2-DVD set will also surprise you with two bonus episodes that I don’t think are available on the internet.
I have watched all of these that I could that were available on the internet. I enjoyed seeing the potter in episodes 14 – 17 (maybe) and the kilns that these pots are made in. I may just get this DVD just for the extra show that I have not seen yet.
