The Ryobi reciprocating tool he refers to is called the Ryobi detail carver, but they don’t make it anymore. You can find them sometimes on ebay.

During the second part I was asked about reciprocating carvers and got out my Automach to demo and let a lady try out. I mentioned that the Ryobi could be obtained for cheaper. While researching tool prices the other day I found that I spoke incorrectly about the availability of the Ryobi reciprocating carver. They are no longer available in the catalog. Perhaps if interested you can find one elsewhere. Chisel kits are still available by Flex-Cutas far as I can see.
I did find common prices of $306-315 for the very nice, but expensive Japanese Automach tool.
The PROXXON reciprocating carver is about $188,
Foredom makes a handpiece reciprocating carver for their flex shafts .
There are a few other models I see for $150ish.
Flex Cut chisel kits are $35-40

    Regards,
    Dale
