This extremely old buttonwood was collected on the coast of south Florida two years ago. It is a perfect example of their ability to face adverse conditions created by huge surf, tropical storms, and hurricanes while maintaining their resilience to live. They are loved for the tortured story that they tell. It is this artist’s goal to bring out the untapped potential in this piece by showcasing the beautiful driftwood while contrasting it with the living. The pot size will be reduced and the inclination changed to capitalize on the dynamical flow of the piece. Buttonwoods are a very fast growing species and this characteristic will prove to offer a pleasant result in the timeframe allotted.
